I love Sesame Street! I Got so Happy when my son asked me to celebrate his 3rd birthday Party (Elmo’s Theme). I soon started looking for ideas and inspirations on Pinterest and all over the internet. I made everything myself ( From Invitations, the Cake, Sweets Treats and decorations to the goody bags and cupcake toppers)
Since nowadays everything is virtual I opted for making my invitations on Microsoft Word and sending them via text and email to each guest ( easy. you do not have to deal with paper plus you can save some money as well) you can edit the Invitations with your birthday info here
For the Goody Bags I used Red Paper Bags and decorated them as Elmo’s Face (Printable Available Here)
One of the sweets treats I made were these Super easy to make Chocolate Covered Oreos pops
you will need:
Oreos cookie, Goldfish Crackers, Colored Wooden Stick , Blue Candy Melts , sprinkle and the Elmo’s Goldfish Tags (Print Here)
Quick instructions:
- open the Oreo cookie in half’, place the wooden stick inside and put the cookie back together again
- on the microwave melt the Candy melts (30 seconds interval and move with a spatula)
- pour candy melts over Oreos cookies covering them completely.
- place goldfish cracker on top of the cookie (draw eye and mouth on cracker with an Edible Marker )
- Sprinkle like in the picture above

I Also made these Elmo’s Face Cake Pops. Super Easy to Make as well. to learn how to make Cake Pops you can read my post Easiest Way to Make Cake Pops.
To decorate them you will need:
Red Candy Melts, Cake Pop Sticks , for the eyes I used Fondant but you can also use Candy Eyes to make it easier. For the nose I use an orange M&M, I drew the mouth with an Edible Food Marker and that was it.
These are the Cupcakes toppers I used you can edit and print them here
you will need cardstock, toothpicks , scissors, glue stick and an Scallop circle Punch and tape
We also had a special Guest. we took the party to another level when Elmo came to dance and play with the birthday boy and all his friends. This Elmo Mascot is Available For Rent (New York City Only)
Hope you get inspired and take some tips and ideas for your next Sesame Street or Elmo Themed Celebration. Thank for Stopping by!
Caro.
