Saint Valentine’s Inspiration

As you all Know Saint Valentines day is around the corner. It is one of my favorite holidays because it is a LOVE celebration in general. I made this cake and decorated cookies for my 8th Wedding Anniversary and I decided to use Valentine’s colors just because Valentine’s day is in less than three weeks.

First let’s talk about the cake👇

Valentine's cake

I’m in love with this cake. It was Chocolate cake with milk chocolate ganache filling (de-li-cious), covered in White Fondant  with a sugar cookie on top. So simple and easy decoration but so lovely and cute as you can see.

What about the cookies??👇

Cookies were decorated in fondant as well and some of the details (bird’s eye and calendar writing) were made with a Black edible marker

I used basic Cookie Cutters  and a Plaque Cookie Cutter for this set.

You can easily change this cookie set into a Valentine’s set just by changing the date on the calendar. Just write February instead of January and a 14 on the little heart.

How I made those tiny birds on top of the letters?

I just cut out a little heart out of Red Fondant with a small Heart Cookie Cutter and then i cut the heart in half and gave it the shape of a little bird. ( simple right?). I Added a tiny piece of fondant to the side to make it look like a wing and drew a dot for the eye with a Black edible marker

Hope you can use this post as an inspiration for Valentine’s or Anniversary day. Thanks for stopping by!
